Key Points On How These Calls Can Be Different:

  • Somebody looking online has what seems like an “unlimited” number of other options besides you. You have 1 shot when you answer their call to get their business.
  • That means you HAVE TO answer the phone live, otherwise they will go to the next company.
  • Note: With our phone system we can have your calls forward to multiple numbers or you can update the forwarding number at any time.
  • You need to quickly identify their problem and reassure them you can help them so they see you as a solution they can trust. Otherwise they can just move onto the next company.
  • The top 3 things they are thinking when they call you are:
  • Can this company help me? (Otherwise I’m moving onto the next company.)
  • Are they going to charge me to come and asses the problem, or is that free?
  • They are terrified they will be taken advantage of because they have this emergency need.
  • Will their insurance cover this? And will you be able to work with their insurance?
  • Also, you will absolutely get calls where they have “intermediate issues” they need resolved before you can help them. Have other people you trust and partner with to refer them to (Plumber, HVAC, Contractor, Roofer, etc) to help them on “intermediate issues” so they don’t have to “find somebody else” and you get left out.
  • Finally, you should expect to get non relevant calls and there is nothing wrong that this happens. These would be calls looking for a different business (you still may be able to help them if they haven’t hired a company yet.) Also Wrong number calls and calls from people who need help for something you don’t offer.
